Interview on Advertising and Why We Shouldn't GoDaddy
John and Kathy were kind hosts to me yesterday at WORD-FM. We covered GoDaddy, roofing, Triscuits, Jubilee,
and more about advertising and the stuff I love. The clip is 18-1/2 min long. Open the "Tuesday, February 07,

Yea Sam! I just had the chance to listen, and it was so great to hear you talk about your work. I was particularly struck and encouraged by your advice to not keep all family activities based out of the church/or Christian based...how important it is to continue to have contact with the secular world. That is something I am struggling with as a parent...how to "protect" my children from the media and "wordly" culture around them. How do I teach them to be in this world, but not of it? At first it seems easiest and safest to just stay in that "Christian cul de sac", as the hosts mentioned. But that is not what God wants from us. I loved your stories of talking with secular students, your roofing experience, etc. to help demonstrate how to share the true Gospel, where it is needed even more...not the cul de sac! :) Thanks Sam...and great job!
Thanks so much for listening, Melissa. Julie and I wonder about these same issues, and I'm not always sure we get it right. But we keep trying. With every new situation and opportunity, we seem to repeat the conversation about what's best for us, for our girls, for our church, and for our neighbors.
So glad you care about this stuff.
